Other Work:
As a writer, Joz has written the “Apocalyptic Plays” trilogy of “Paperwork,” “Last Eyes Blinded” and “Lady Justice,” two of which have been performed at the Salisbury Playhouse. He has also had two other short plays, “Grates On You” and “Experimentally Brief” performed as part of the Playhouse’s New Writing Project, and has written a novel, “Dreaming In Circles,” which is available online, as well as numerous short stories. He also wrote and starred in three radio sitcoms for the UEA Drama Soc’s Livewire radio show – “In A Spin,” for which he won the 2007/8 Drama Soc Award for New Writing; “Berry Bay” and “The Adventures of Lady, Britain’s Greatest Lady Detective.” He also played the regular character of Tennessee Williams on the radio show in Jon Brittain’s “Tennessee Williams and Alan Ayckbourne At Home” sketches.
Joz is a student of English Literature at the University of East Anglia, and is also an accomplished comedian. He was once one half of “The Nick and Joz Project” – from 2005 to 2006 he recorded three comedy internet podcasts with Nick Hamilton-Brain, as well as a “Christmas Special” recording featuring Rob Beagrie in place of Nick. He is now pursuing stand-up comedy, having become a regular performer with Norwich’s “Laugh Out Loud” and “Smoking Mic” Comedy Clubs, as well as performing with “Saltbox” Comedy Club and “Earlham Road’s Dirty Little Secret” occasionally. He has performed at various pubs and clubs throughout the Norfolk area, including the Fisher Theatre in Bungay, as well as at Moloko Bar in Salisbury and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He doesn’t like tequila and thinks people should wear suits more.
